What started in 1969 as a 60-member chorus has grown into a volunteer ensemble of 140 individuals. The Society’s Adult Chorus performs classical masterworks such as Mendelssohn’s Elijah and Mozart’s Requiem, frequently collaborates with other local arts ensembles such as Ballet Oklahoma and the Oklahoma City Philharmonic.
The organization’s Canterbury Youth Choruses (CYC) learn musical literacy and performance skills through curriculum-based vocal training. The CYC’s performing groups include the Apprentice Choir (grades2-6), Chorale (grades6-10), the Young Men’s Chorus.
