The Capital Jazz Fest features the largest concentration of contemporary jazz and R&B year-round in the greater Baltimore/Washington D.C. area.  Located at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in the 40-acre “Symphony Woods”, the Festival takes place over three days each June and brings more than 30 top-billing artists, most in their only annual appearances in the region.

Tens of thousands of music lovers converge on the venue each year for the event, which in addition to a busy concert schedule features fine arts and crafts at the Festival Marketplace, a full-service food court, workshops with Festival artists, and nightly after-show parties.  Ticketed seating is available in the Pavilion and provides the best view of the stage, while General Admission lawn seating is less expensive and allows concertgoers to stretch out and soak in the sun.

In addition to the main Festival in June, the Capital Jazz organization sponsors a few other jazz-related initiatives, including the Capital Jazz Super Cruise, a 7-day floating music festival that sails from the port of Miami to Jamaica, Belize and Mexico.  Capital Jazz Radio is the official radio station of the Festival, and features classic and contemporary jazz and R&B artists, streaming online 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
