Opened over 3 decades ago, Jazz Alley has carved out its niche as one of the premier jazz venues on the West Coast. Many of the world’s leading artists, in jazz and beyond, have performed here. Major artists have included Oscar Peterson, Dizzy Gillespie, Bill Evans, and Taj Mahal. The club opened originally in the University District, where it was a popular venue among local students and jazz lovers alike. After six years it relocated to its current and more central location at 6th and Lenora in Downtown Seattle. In its 30 year history, Jazz Alley has grown from a small corner bistro to Seattle’s largest jazz venue, seating hundreds on two separate floors. Despite its current size, the club still maintains an intimate atmosphere, with the music as the focal point at all times. Today it continues to attract the most discerning jazz aficionados, performers and audience members alike.
