Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra is a 70-member professional ensemble under the direction of newly appointed Music Director and Principal Conductor, John Morris Russell who will begin his tenure in the 2012-2013 Season. The group has grown from a small amateur chamber group founded in 1982 to a full-fledged ensemble replete with talented professional members and world-class soloists.

Subscription packages are available for several different combinations of concerts and are a great value as compared to single ticket prices. The HHSO also sponsors the Youth Concerto Competition, and the Hilton Head International Piano Competition, and is supported by a number of local businesses as well as The League of the Symphony Orchestra, which promotes awareness and organizes fundraising events for the orchestra throughout the year.
