Built in 1926 and still a major landmark in Portland’s Hollywood District, the Hollywood Theatre has earned a place on the National Register of Historic Places. The iconic venue, which is used for film screenings, premieres, and other special events, has been preserved thanks to the efforts of Film Action Oregon, a local organization that promotes classic, independent, and foreign cinema through its Film Exhibition Programs.
