Built in 1930 and carefully restored in the 1980s, the Mayan Theatre is one of just three theaters left in the country that were done in the Art Deco Mayan Revival style. The theater’s central Denver location means that there are plenty of art galleries, vintage clothing shops, antique stores, and restaurants nearby to visit before or after the movie. The Mayan’s three screens show foreign films, daring independent features, and other art-house flicks.
