Aiming to create powerful stories that excite young viewers, and “the kid in all of us,” Metro Theatre Company has been teaching and presenting touring productions for almost forty years. With works that have played throughout the United States, and as far as Europe and Japan, the Metro has a catalog that includes favorites like Lily’s Plastic Purse and the Newberry Award winning The Giver alongside contemporary explorations of urban life like Delilah’s Wish and Tomato Plant Girl.

Bringing the magic of the theatre directly into school rooms, Metro is equally dedicated to “building community through drama”, with extensive interactive training programs, including an Artist-Teacher Partnership and Young Artists Theatre Lab routinely receiving wide ranging critical acclaim from St. Louis’s top school districts and city officials.
