The Miami Beach Cinematheque, located on EspaƱola Way, is the home of the Miami Beach Film Society, an organization dedicated to providing an alternative to the mainstream movie-going experience. The society hosts screenings of an array of festivals and film series at the Cinematheque, which contains a wonderful library, allowing patrons to sit back and enjoy a good book before or after movie showings. There is also a coffee bar, behind which you just may find Film Society founder Dana Keith, creating his own unique beverages. The Miami Beach Cinematheque recently teamed up with Emerging Pictures; it can now screen first- run indie pictures and art films in high-definition.
