Marking its 28th season in the summer of 2011, Music Under the Stars (MUTS) is one of El Paso’s favorite family events, and one of the largest free music festivals in the state of Texas.  The event brings local, national and international artists to the city to perform every Sunday evening from mid-June to mid-August at El Paso’s Chamizal National Memorial.

The Festival features a hugely eclectic mix of musical styles; from the Latin American rhythms of salsa, merengue, mariachi, and samba to North American jazz and western swing, MUTS represents the full cultural diversity of one of the world’s largest international border communities.  Select visiting artists offer free workshops and master classes to El Paso’s young aspiring musicians, fostering the continued growth of the city’s already rich cultural life.  Each year, Music Under the Stars features a Fourth of July Extravaganza celebration, with a patriotic performance by the El Paso Symphony Orchestra and closing fireworks display.
