A steadily expanded performing arts organization since its beginnings in 1964 as Central Presbyterian Church’s professional choral series presenters, the Musica Sacra Chorus and Orchestra has advanced the scope and frequency of great choral performances in New York. The chorus, the longest-running professional one in the city, boasts a powerhouse repertoire of passions, masses and requiems by Bach, Mozart, Handel and others, as well as a commitment to regularly performing seminal modern choral works and premieres of new works.
