Northeast Jazz & Wine Festival

Clinton Square, 2 South Clinton Street

315-479-5299
website

The Northeast Jazz & Wine Festival is a fun and exciting event combining a love of great jazz with a love of fine wine. (Never a bad combination!) For two days at the end of July, downtown Syracuse is overrun with world-class jazz performances, student performances, jam sessions, late night club dates and more. The Northeast Jazz & Wine Fest began in 2008 by adding a wine dimension to the successful Jazz in the Square International Jazz Festival (which began in 2002 as a response to the great need for an event showcasing the burgeoning arts scene in Syracuse.) As a part of Syracuse ArtsWeek, all events at the festival are free and feature performers from all around the region. Preferred eating is available for purchase and can be found on the festival website. As the event is free, the festival organizers strictly enforce the no outside food/drink policy to help bring revenue to the festival vendors, so remember to bring an appetite (and extra cash). (MS)
