The professional theatre in residence at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Playmakers Rep is an outstanding regional company with ambitious vision. Presenting eight shows annually on two different stages, past productions at Playmakers have included sweeping epics like Nicholas Nickelby and Angels in America alongside challenging introspective works like Joan Didion’s The Year of Magical Thinking and Samuel Beckett’s Happy Days.

Saluted by the Drama League of New York as one of the country’s top regional playhouses,Playmakers’ unique collaboration between top professional artists and designers and talented UNC graduate students routinely results in striking, innovative stagings that are among the area’s best. Committed to providing opportunities for educational enrichment, Playmaker’s outreach programs reach over 100,000 students each year, with the troupe’s celebrated Summer Youth Conservatory providing intensive training in the arts to young people ages 9-18.
