The Portland Opera was founded in 1964. The Company has attracted a lot of attention for their U.S., North American, and international premieres of various operas, including their 1982 world premiere of Wuthering Heights. In addition to its formal opera performances at the Portland Center for the Performing Arts’ Keller Auditorium, the opera also performs regionally at schools, community centers, and theaters as a part of their outreach and education programs.
