Schola Cantorum of Texas has been a fixture for the choral music tradition in Dallas-Fort Worth since 1962. Comprised of volunteer vocalists, the nonprofit ensemble is led by Dr. Jerry McCoy, Director of Choral Studies at the University of North Texas, and only the fourth music director in Schola’s nearly 50-year history. The choir performs throughout Tarrant County, and recently participated in “A Concert for the People of Haiti” to benefit those impacted by the devastating January 2010 earthquake.
