This exciting 18-person chamber choir comprised of “All Star” singers from across the U.S. was founded in 2002, joined by its performing companion the Firebird Chamber Orchestra in 2008. Dedicated to presenting “underperformed music of cultural significance,” whether classical or contemporary, Seraphic Fire has also collaborated with Latin pop star Shakira on her Platinum album Oral Fixation II.
In its short period of existence, Seraphic Fire has initiated Miami Choral Academy, a free after-school program designed to benefit children in low-income Miami-Dade communities through the establishment of a league of youth choirs. Further displaying a commitment to cultivating the musical lives of children, Seraphic Fire and the Firebird Chamber Orchestra offer free rush tickets to young patrons ten minutes before each concert.
