Founded to further the preservation of Hispanic cultural heritage, Teatro Avante has since 1979, evolved into an internationally recognized entity, with productions that have traveled to and from South America, Puerto Rico and throughout Europe. Best known for hosting the Miami International Hispanic Theatre Festival each summer, the company has also produced unique stagings (in both English and Spanish) of works by Albee, Williams and even Shakespeare, along with new and classic pieces from the acclaimed pedigree of Latin authors like Garcia Lorca and Reguera Saumell.
