The Turquoise is an intimate venue that aspires to recreate the atmosphere and feeling of a Southern European café; its name refers to the ancient colloquial name for the Mediterranean Sea. The menu reflects this as well, with a selection of hot and cold tapas and Italian dishes (including entrees and panini). The music schedule showcases a variety of music, including straight-ahead modern jazz and blues during the weekdays; Saturdays and Sundays feature rotating artists, leaning further in the direction of world music. Perhaps most in keeping with the Mediterranean theme of the Turquoise is the group that performs every 4th Sunday of the month; the ‘Middle Earth’ ensemble performs music of the Old World, accompanied by belly dancers.
