(April – May) The Transmodern Festival is described as “a cultural phenomenon presenting radical, experimental, expectation-defying work from local, national and international artists. The festival represents communities and artists who defy cultural normative practices and disciplines.” Heavy on performance art, the festival also explores dance, multimedia performance, culinary performance, installations, and a number of interactive (and unexplainable) experiences. For four days in May, the Transmodern Festival takes attendees on a journey they won’t soon forget. Tickets are available through the website; if you go, don’t forget to bring your open mind! (MS)
