The marriage of jazz and the Afro-Cuban tradition was a match made in heaven and Van Dyke Cafe exploits this with fantastic results. With live music every night ranging from songbook-style vocalists to world-class Latin ensembles (it is Miami, after all), Van Dyke takes you up a flight and several levels of class to its “Upstairs” space. The intimate, chic listening room hosts many national touring acts throughout the year and all for a very reasonable cover charge (generally around $10-15, or free earlier in the week). Food and drinks are a little spendy, but the music is well worth it. Also, if you are a “try-before-you-buy” kind of customer, check out their live web broadcasts of their nightly performances.
