Very rarely does a club outside a major metropolis have the problem of turning away rabid jazz fans, but this is exactly what happened with Cleveland’s Jazz 28. In a brilliant move, owners Marc and Deborah Lynn partnered with restaurateur Brian Okin to solve their mutual problem of how to keep the guests coming all week long. Jazz 28 now holds its weekend music at the celebrated restaurant, Verve, where the space is ample and the food is just as delicious. Performers include both local and touring artists and with little or no cover charge, the price is right for a night out with great music and a menu of hearty and inventive entrees. The music ranges from straight-ahead jazz quartets to R&B vocalists and Latin jazz ensembles.
