Formerly a multi-arts venue that booked rock bands, screened the work of local filmmakers, hosted small film festivals and generally brought a little taste of the avant-garde to downtown DC, skyrocketing rents have forced the Downtown Art Complex to scale itself back recently. The space still functions, as of August 2011, as the Warehouse Theater, a 120-seat black box theater that stages small, intimate theater pieces.
