The Wichita Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1944 and today, boasts 84 part-time musicians and over 85 concerts each year. Concerts include the Classic Series, Pops concerts and a series of “Blue Jeans” concerts that invite informal dress and, through it’s education and outreach programs, the orchestra reaches more than 40,000 schoolchildren each year in its Young People’s Concerts and in-school performances. The Symphony is also frequently heard in performances for Radio Kansas. Subscriptions are available in several different packages and discount levels.
