Richmond has long had a thriving and fertile jazz scene. Since 1979, the RJS has published a jazz newsletter and sponsored educational workshops, jazz radio programs, and performances by artists of international renown. Over the years it has presented hundreds of jazz concerts of the highest quality, as well as exhibits in a variety of media relating to the history of jazz in Virginia and beyond.
The RJS website contains a wealth of information, including listings of artists, jazz venues, and jazz events all over the state. The monthly newsletter is available by email, with no membership required.
