A professional, non-profit theater company located in the scenic foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, this company was founded in 1980; its first home was a converted tin warehouse in East Sonora. In 1997, Sierra Rep was selected as the resident theater company of the Historic Fallon House in Columbia State Historic Park; its initial production there was Something’s Afoot. Today, the company presents 10 mainstage shows per year in two locations, the original East Sonora Theater and the Fallon House. Sierra Rep plays to an audience of more than 65,000 people annually and boasts 2,400 season subscribers for its productions of shows ranging from classic musicals (Carousel, Gypsy) to plays such as Donald Margulies’ Time Stands Still and Alfred Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps.
