Located in Seattle’s Madrona neighborhood, St. Clouds is an establishment devoted to its place in the local community.  It was begun a decade ago by two teachers/social activists, with a mission to create and nurture community around food and culture.  Local musical acts are featured on the music calendar, many of which have monthly or weekly residencies.  Many styles of music are presented, including straight-ahead jazz, swing, honky-tonk, and Latin jazz.  St. Clouds also hosts a number of community activities including cooking for area homeless, fundraisers for local environmental and medical research groups, and other timely and worthwhile activities.  The name St. Clouds derives from the book Cider House Rules, a place in the story where orphans take refuge and find a sense of belonging; it is also a not-unconscious nod to the Emerald City’s famous climate.
