Listed in Downbeat Magazine’s list of the 100 Best Jazz Clubs in the world, The Jazz Kitchen brings world-class jazz musicians to its stage, along with a smattering of brilliant local talent. Owner David Allee, the son of jazz composer Steve Allee, has done an exceptional job of bringing in top artists since the club opened in 1994, including Ray Brown, Harry Connick Jr., and J. J. Johnson.

If the cover charge is $15 or less, one need only make a dinner reservation and the cover will be charged at the door. However, if the show is over $15 (national acts), tickets must be purchased either in person, online, or over the phone (note that there is a $3 surcharge for phone or online ticketing). Dinner can be a bit on the expensive side when you add in the cover charge, but for a nice night out, The Jazz Kitchen is Indy’s classiest jazz location.
