Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre began over 30 years ago as a small theater-playhouse company. As it’s grown, it has toured the country extensively, as well as Canada, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic. It’s home to a reputable company of 30 professional dancers and a nationally recognized training school.

Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre offers ample opportunity for audiences to connect and learn more about the work it’s presenting. These include Insights, informal talks with guest artists held prior to performances, and Afterthoughts, post-performance discussions with company staff and artists. Subscribers may be interested in Talks with Terry on Sunday afternoons at 1 p.m., informal conversations held in the theater (just prior to subscriber matinées) and hosted by Artistic Director Terrence Orr. For families, the Family Pointe is a pre-performance program built to entertain children ages 5 to 14. Additionally, Pittsburgh Ballet holds occasional open rehearsals on Wednesday evenings with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and a chance to interact with the company’s artists.
