The Catacoustic Consort’s been playing early music in and around the Cincinnati area (not exclusively, but you get the idea) for about a decade now; they’ve got one of the few lirone players in the world in founder and artistic director Annalisa Pappano, and they’d need a wheelbarrow to tote around the acclaim they’ve received. They tried out a candlelight concert last year at St. Thomas Episcopal Church and were rewarded with a sellout, so they’re doing the same thing this year, at 7:30 Saturday, same place, different set – this one focuses heavily on the harp, and there’s a vocalist, too. And music from the 17th century, by candlelight, in a church? Chills. (FULL ARTICLE: Janelle Gelfand, Cincinnati Enquirer)
