Talk about the same old tune. Washington D.C.’s Lincoln Theatre dates from 1922, recently underwent a comprehensive renovation (just look at that interior), has immense historical relevance, and is currently broke. To try and keep the place running while a new business plan is formulated, the D.C. Arts Commission announced Tuesday that it will take temporary control of the theater – although the current operator, the U Street Theatre Foundation, will remain through the end of the year.
