Oxford University researchers recently staged an experiment wherein a handful of Rembrandt enthusiasts were shown a selection of artworks, Rembrandts and those by the master’s followers, and essentially had it proven that our inherent human reaction to a piece of art – or a glass of wine, or, really, any experience – is inherently subjective.
