Mabel Mercer Foundation’s Cabaret at Lincoln Center comes to Lynn University

Lynn University and Jan McArtproducer and director of theatre arts program development, today announced that both season subscriptions and individual show tickets are now available for the popular Mabel Mercer Foundation’s Cabaret at Lincoln Center comes to Live at Lynn series. Starting in January 2017, five of Manhattan’s leading cabaret shows will be presented in Lynn’s Amarnick-Goldstein Concert Hall. Season tickets are $150.  Lynn University is an independent college based in Boca Raton, Florida, with approximately 3,000 students from 100 countries. U.S. News & World Report ranks Lynn among the top five most international schools and the top 25 most innovative. Lynn’s NCAA Division II Fighting Knights have won 23 national titles, its Conservatory of Music features a world-renowned faculty of performers, and its nationally recognized Institute for Achievement and Learning empowers students with learning differences. The school’s Dialogues curriculum and award-winning iPad program help Lynn graduates gain the intellectual flexibility and global experience to fulfill their potential in an ever-changing world. Showcasing eclectic English and French songs, Karen Akers samples her favorite composers: Cole Porter, Maury Yeston, Amanda McBroom and Stephen Sondheim. Winner of the Nightlife Legend Award, Akers has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl and theaters in New York City, London, Russia and in Barcelona’s Liceu Opera House.

The Songs of Harry Warren

Tenor Kristoffer Lowe explores the songbook of composer Harry Warren. Despite prolific success with 800 songs and three Academy Awards, Warren never achieved name-brand celebrity, earning him the nickname “the Invisible Man.” Lowe gives the author of “At Last,” “I Only Have Eyes for You,” and “42nd Street” his long awaited due.
