Mark Rylance Has Written A Play With that Mad Poet He’s Always Reciting

At last year’s Tony Awards, Mark Rylance accepted his Best Actor award by reciting a poem by Louis Jenkins, in contrast to the 2008 Tonys, when Mark Rylance accepted his Best Actor award by reciting a poem by Louis Jenkins. This of course is a fairly clear indication that the poems of Louis Jenkins have particular resonance for Mark Rylance, and also that Mark Rylance is maybe the coolest man on Earth right now. And though Louis Jenkins has seen his sales spike as a result of that exposure, Mark Rylance recently said, Hey, that’s not enough, Louis Jenkins, we should write a play together, and so they did, and that play’s called Nice Fish, and it will debut at the Guthrie in Minneapolis sometime next year.
