The Marvell Repertory Theatre hit the Off-Broadway scene in 2010 with a flourish, laying out that sort of full-immersion theater that is not terribly easy to find anywhere, even in New York. They’ve also devoted themselves to lesser-known works by eminent playwrights, a noble undertaking, and this year’s second season is even more narrowly structured, and very, very cool: this season, they’re only doing plays that have been burned, banned, or otherwise suppressed. The kick-off show is Arthur Schnitzler’s Professor Bernhardi; it’s up now at TBG Theatre through the end of the month. (FULL ARTICLE: Frank Scheck, The New York Post)
