Marvin Hamlisch to headline ABT anniversary party in January

(Jaci Webb, Billings Gazette) Composer and conductor Marvin Hamlisch will be the headline performer at the Alberta Bair Theater’s 25th anniversary celebration on Jan. 14 at 7:30 p.m.

The renowned American composer will play piano and conduct the Billings Symphony Orchestra in a formal black-tie concert. Also scheduled for the gala event is a founder’s reception for the ABT’s largest sponsors and an after-party with Hamlisch at the Crowne Plaza.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday at the ABT ticket office, Rimrock Mall and online at They are $55.50, $75.50, $150 and $250. The $150 ticket includes the after-party and a commemorative CD featuring some of Hamlisch’s previously recorded music with a special ABT 25th anniversary label. The $250 ticket includes the founder’s reception at the Yellowstone Art Museum before the concert, the concert and the after-party.
