New York Botanical Garden’s ‘Summer of Monet’ Will Include a Pair of His Paintings

The New York Botanical Garden’s one of those NYC institutions that’s still fairly underappreciated, likely owing to the fact that it’s in the Bronx. The Bronx is a long way away. But the botanical garden’s beautiful, absolutely lush and full of life, and a welcome oasis on those ridiculously hot and aromatic New York days that are, yep, just around the corner, y’all. Anyone who might be inclined to venture up there, visitor and resident alike, should keep in mind, as well, that the NYBG’s giving this summer over to a recreation of Monet’s garden in Giverny, including the facade of his house, and they’re going to be running an installation, The Artist in the Garden, in conjunction, which will feature a pair of little-seen Monets, a slew of photographs, and his “paint-encrusted wooden palette”.
