San Francisco Lyric Opera Chugs Back to Life

On the whole, the economy – at least as it pertains to artistic companies and theaters and the like – is, still, far more black crushing DOOM than butterflies and rainbows. But some life is gradually beginning to surge through even the most barren fields, and on a chilly grey early spring day it’s quite nice to be able to report that the San Francisco Lyric Opera, after three years of laying fallow and comatose, is dragging itself off the mat this weekend with a production of David Lang’s the little match girl passion at the ODC Theater beginning March 23.
