Never before the subject of a dedicated exhibition, the prints of collage artist Romare Bearden are finally getting a just appraisal. Impressions and Improvisations collects nearly a hundred of Bearden’s works, many dealing with classic Bearden themes like trains and jazz. The exhibition’s been touring the country for awhile (our own May Evans blogged about it when it was in Kansas City last month, in fact), which is fine – spread the wealth – but as of Friday it’s at the Taft Museum in Cincinnati, and Cincinnati should go check it out, soon, because Romare Bearden never did stick around for long. (Until April 29, in this case. So, okay – a little while.) (FULL ARTICLE: Jackie Demaline, Metromix Cincinnati)
