The Wedding Warrior

The Wedding Warrior is thrilled to announce its summer tour at The 20th Annual New York International Fringe Festival and The Chicago Fringe Festival, with 3 special preview performances in The Wedding Warrior’s hometown of Islamorada in the Florida Keys!
The Wedding Warrior is a One Woman Show based on playwright/performer, Casey Dressler’s time working as a Wedding Coordinator in her hometown of Islamorada in the Florida Keys. Better off wed? That is just one of the questions Casey poses as she passes the torch to an incoming wedding coordinator in this uplifting, comedic peek into the chaos that ensues before the vows are taken. The show takes place over the course of two different weddings at the Kokomo Isle Resort, a fictitious landmark inspired by The Islander Resort in Islamorada where Casey worked as the property’s resident Wedding and Special events planner. In 2011 Dressler left the bridal biz to begin working full time in the performing arts. She is a company member at The Alliance Theatre in Miami as well as at Thinking Cap Theatre and The Vanguard in Fort Lauderdale where she regularly performs. Casey also works in TV and film and is represented by Stellar Talent Agency and Boca Modeling and Talent Agency. She recently made her SAG debut in an Italian commercial with Bruce Willis!
Christine Dolen of The Miami Herald says The Wedding Warrior is “Funny, touching, sweet. Beautifully written and acted. A perfect Fringe show! Don’t miss it!” The Scotsman says “Dressler’s The Wedding Warrior is full of sparky dialogue that wouldn’t feel out of place in a Hollywood rom-com. It follows a wedding planner looking for love while dealing with eccentric guests’ mad behaviour. The Cinderella story, innovatively retold by one – a Latino lady – is a highlight. Imaginatively directed by Kim St Leon, The Wedding Warrior has that American gloss that British writers sometimes struggle with and a fun, mainstream tone that seems effortless, but actually takes a lot of skill.” says “The Wedding Warrior: This was easily my best of the fest. Casey Dressler’s solo show based on her experiences as a single, love-shy wedding coordinator in the Keys, is a gem. Dressler’s play has heart, soul and lots and lots of laughs. If you ever get a chance to see it, go.”
The Wedding Warrior was accepted into FringeNYC by a panel of judges that adjudicate the festival. Thousands of submissions from all over with world are received, with just 200 shows chosen each year, making it the most competitive and prestigious of any theatre festival arguably in the world.  The Chicago Fringe Festival is operated by a lottery system. Submissions are accepted and then put into a drawing. Much like FringeNYC, theatrical pieces are received both nationally and internationally, with only 50 selected for inclusion in the festival’s line-up. 25 shows are chosen from within Chicago and 25 from outside of the city. These tough odds make it all the more rewarding and exciting that The Wedding Warrior was selected to perform in both The Big Apple and The Windy City!
The Wedding Warrior  is having 3 special shows in Islamorada at The Florida Keys History Discovery Center located on the property of The Islander Resort, the exact location that inspired the show! Casey is previewing the show in her hometown as a pep rally and fundraiser before she takes off for her month and a half long tour in New York and Chicago. Anyone wishing to make a donation to benefit The Wedding Warrior’s Summer Tour at The New York and Chicago Fringe Festivals can do so by visiting the “Donate” page at or by contacting Casey at  Don’t miss this one woman romantic comedy about a frazzled Florida Keys wedding planner! You’ll say “I do” too!
