Fort Lauderdale audiences seeking a good laugh will soon have an exciting, but limited, opportunity to catch Casey Dressler’s hilarious one-woman comedy, The Wedding Warrior based on Dressler’s experiences as a wedding coordinator in her hometown of, Islamorada in the Florida Keys.
The Wedding Warrior follows Casey, a 30-something, single wedding coordinator as she combats the mayhem and mishaps that lead up to matrimony. Better off wed? That is just one of the questions Casey poses as she passes the torch to an incoming wedding coordinator in this charming, comedic peek into the chaos that ensues before marital vows are taken. With characters into the double digits, The Wedding Warrior is a slice of life piece about love, relationships and the crazy characters whose paths we cross, forever changing our own journey.
Written in the winter of 2014, The Wedding Warrior has already been produced nationally and internationally, with performances in New York City at 59E59 Theaters and in Scotland at The Space UK as part of the 2014 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The most recent staging of Casey Dressler’s, ‘The Wedding Warrior’ was at the First Annual Fort Lauderdale Fringe Festival where it was named “Best of the Fest” in the “Fringe Binge” review by Mary Damiano.
