‘War Horse’ Is Sniffing Around for a New Home

The puppet-driven machine that is War Horse so far shows no signs of stopping, or even slowing down, this after a solid year of sold-out performances at Lincoln Center, a Spielberg-helmed screen adaptation, an armload of Tony Awards and enough popular and critical acclaim to, yes, choke a horse. But the black-tie crown has likely had its fill of Joey and the boy, or so goes the thinking, and now the National Theater is sniffing around Broadway for a potential new home, because tentpole shows do not work at Lincoln Center for all sorts of reasons, and the National is planning to ride Joey through New York for as long as it can.
