Yo-Yo Ma’s just toying with us now. Hard on the heels of the release, and near-universal acclaim, of his bluegrass quartet record The Goat Rodeo Sessions comes word that the group’s January 31 set at Boston’s House of Blues will be screened live in theaters across the country. Ma, fiddler Stuart Duncan, bassist Edgar Meyer and mandolinist Chris Thile hit the boards at 7:30 that evening; expect mischief, virtuosity, and lots of inadvertent ejaculations of “Oh, come on!” from the audience whenever one of the four goes on a musical run.
