Choirs taking over the tri state!

 

In the upcoming months, choral groups all over will be converging on special locations throughout the city, sharing their voices and cultures with Cincinnati residents. To make sure you get to see all the best groups, plan ahead! Here’s a few huge events coming up:

Cincinnati May Festival

Cherishing the long loved choral arts in the tri state since 1873, this year’s May Festival is sure to please all lovers of music. Throughout the two weekend-long festival, performances include Verde Stabat Mater, Poulenc Gloria, Verdi Laudi alla vergine Maria, Beethoven Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage, Brahms A German Requiem, and Tchaikovsky Choruses and arias from Eugene Onegin to name just a few! Depending on the show, the locations vary so be sure to check the website to buy tickets.

 

One Earth. One People. Many Songs.

Get ready for MUSE Cincinnati Women’s Choir‘s 29th Annual Spring Concert! This wonderfully inspiring event takes place on Saturday, May 12th at 7:30 p.m. At The School for Creative and Performing Arts on Central Pkwy. A celebration of culture and collectivity, MUSE focuses on social activism combined with amazing musical talents to foster diversity. Doors open at 7 p.m. and childcare is available by calling 513-221-1118 or by email at muse@musechoir.org. Though there is a suggested donation of $20, tickets are based on what you feel is comfortable.

2012 World Choir Games

The World Choir games is in it’s 7th year and for the first time in the United States, from July 4th-14th, Cincinnati is sponsoring the incredible event with choral groups from almost every continent! Thousands of singing wonders from Africa, Europe, Australia, both the Americas, and Asia will take the stage at this fantastic event! Other festivities include children’s choirs, pin trading, and mascots. You can order tickets by calling 513-977-6363 or by visiting their website.
