Brews and Blues Festival at the Springs Preserve

When summer sets in and the temperatures in Vegas maintain a steady triple digits there are are few things that can get you to commit to an outdoor event better than live music and beer.  The Springs Preserve is hosting its third annual Brews and Blues Festival.  Last years event sold out with over 2,500 people coming out for a afternoon of beer tasting and live Blues.

Jubilee: Las Vegas Showgirls

Las Vegas features many classic and tastefully preformed burlesque and showgirl productions.  For visitors and locals desiring the experience of the old school style of showgirl productions that are synonymous with Las Vegas, Jubilee at Bally’s is the longest running show of its kind.  Jubilee is a Donn Arden production with a cast of 85 performers which incorporates singing, dancing, acrobatics, magic and marvelous costumes and sets.

Trash to Treasure: The Sculptures of Dave Thompson

Trash to Treasures: The Sculptures of Dave Thompson is the current exhibit showing at the Spring Preserve until May 20th 2012.  Found-object artist Dave Thompson uses primarily discarded metal, recycling it and transforming it into mythical creatures and other other worldly creations.

Vegas’ New Amanda Harris Contemporary Art Gallery

The Las Vegas Arts District recently welcomed a new gallery.  The Amanda Harris Gallery of Contemporary Art opened with its current show, a collection of work by Wess Dahl-Berg.  The Amanda Harris Gallery’s intention of providing a creative space that displays high quality and sophisticated contemporary art is realized by the art and events present and proposed.
