Brews and Blues Festival at the Springs Preserve

When summer sets in and the temperatures in Vegas maintain a steady triple digits there are are few things that can get you to commit to an outdoor event better than live music and beer.  The Springs Preserve is hosting its third annual Brews and Blues Festival.  Last years event sold out with over 2,500 people coming out for a afternoon of beer tasting and live Blues.

The Western Federation of Watercolor Societies’ 37th Annual Juried Show in Las Vegas

Jubilee: Las Vegas Showgirls

Las Vegas features many classic and tastefully preformed burlesque and showgirl productions.  For visitors and locals desiring the experience of the old school style of showgirl productions that are synonymous with Las Vegas, Jubilee at Bally’s is the longest running show of its kind.  Jubilee is a Donn Arden production with a cast of 85 performers which incorporates singing, dancing, acrobatics, magic and marvelous costumes and sets.

Trash to Treasure: The Sculptures of Dave Thompson

Trash to Treasures: The Sculptures of Dave Thompson is the current exhibit showing at the Spring Preserve until May 20th 2012.  Found-object artist Dave Thompson uses primarily discarded metal, recycling it and transforming it into mythical creatures and other other worldly creations.

Las Vegas: Spring Preserve

Lied Children’s Museum in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is often thought of as being synonymous with an adult playground. However, there is educational entertainment for children tucked away just a short distance from all the neon, over-sized drinks with neck straps and scantily clad show girls. Vegas’ New Amanda Harris Contemporary Art Gallery

Chinese New Year: The Year Of The Dragon

The Neon Museum

The Neon Museum is where Las Vegas neon signs retire. This non-profit museum was founded in 1996 by the Allied Arts Council of Southern Nevada and the City of Las Vegas. The idea for the Museum began when the Allied Arts Council and Young Electric Sign Company (YESCO) decided that they wanted to preserve the signs as a representation of Las Vegas history.

Las Vegas Architecture- Frank Gehry’s Lou Ruvo Center

The Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health is the collaborative project between Larry Ruvo, the owner of the largest distributor of wine and spirits in Las Vegas and Frank Gehry, the California based, Toronto born architect.  Together they have created a world renowned institute for brain research and health, officially the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.  It is hard to miss this impressive structure located in just off the …more…
