Broadway in Fort Lauderdale is proud to announce the Broadway Musicals, HAMILTON and DEAR EVAN HANSEN, will play their South Florida premiere engagements and anchor the 2018/19 season. The 2018/19 Bank of America Broadway in Fort Lauderdale season showcases Broadway’s finest hits with a six or seven show subscription package power-packed with South Florida premieres of Broadway’s newest blockbusters and revivals.

The Broadway in Fort Lauderdale 2018/19 subscription season is made possible with the generous support of Bank of America and is presented by Florida Theatrical Association in partnership with Broadway Across America and the Broward Center for the Performing Arts

Season tickets for the 2018/2019 Bank of America Broadway in Fort Lauderdale six-show package are currently available and range from *$261 – $1002. A seven-show package which includes THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is also available and range from *$296 – $1147. 2018/19 BANK OF AMERICA BROADWAY IN FORT LAUDERDALE LINE-UP

THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA
October 10 – 21, 2018

Cameron Mackintosh’s spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA will make a triumphant return to Fort Lauderdale as part of its North American Tour. Critics are raving that this breathtaking production is “bigger and better than ever before” and features a brilliant new scenic design by Paul Brown, Tony Award®-winning original costume design by Maria Björnson, lighting design by Tony Award®-winner Paule Constable, new choreography by Scott Ambler, and new staging by director Laurence Connor.

The production, overseen by Matthew Bourne and Cameron Mackintosh, boasts many exciting special effects including the show’s legendary chandelier. The beloved story and thrilling score – with songs like “Music of the Night,” “All I Ask Of You,” and “Masquerade” – will be performed by a cast and orchestra of 52, making this PHANTOM one of the largest productions now on tour.

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s THE KING AND I

Set in 1860’s Bangkok, the musical tells the story of the unconventional and tempestuous relationship that develops between the King of Siam and Anna Leonowens, a British schoolteacher whom the modernist King, in an imperialistic world, brings to Siam to teach his many wives and children. HAMILTON
December 18 – January 20, 2019

HAMILTON is the story of America’s Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new nation’s first Treasury Secretary. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B, and Broadway, HAMILTON is the story of America then, as told by America now.

With book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, HAMILTON is based on Ron Chernow’s biography of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton.

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF
