LUV

The Plaza Theatre presents the comedy LUV by Murray Schisgal.  This Tony Award-winning comedy, written by the author of Tootsie, tells the tale of friends Harry Berlin and Milt Manville as they rekindle their friendship and plan for a matchmaking adventure.

The two-act play begins with a man standing on a bridge, ready to jump, when he runs into his old college friend.  The former classmates enter into a conversation to get reacquainted that evolves into a boasting match about whose life has been worse.  Milt is in a loveless marriage with his wife Ellen; and though he has found the love of his life, Ellen will not grant him a divorce.  Harry has a long list of ailments, which he involuntary demonstrates for his long lost friend.  Milt hatches a plot to get Harry and Ellen to fall in love with each other so he can be released to marry his “soul mate”, and everyone will live happily ever after.  LUV is a classic comedy of manners, mishaps, twists and turns.

LUV will appear at The Plaza Theatre from December 7 – 30, 2012.  The Plaza Theatre, a not-for-profit 250-seat theatre, is home to a variety of light-hearted shows, with an occasional gripping drama. The Plaza Theatre is located at 262 S. Ocean Blvd in Manalapan, FL.  Show times are Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with Friday and Saturday shows beginning nightly at 7:30 p.m., and a matinee performance at 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
