The African American Performing Arts Community Theatre (AAPACT), in partnership with the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center, proudly presents a return engagement of its production of Sisters! A Celebration of the Human Spirit starring: Adreana Noel, Ajahne Mason, Charita Coleman, Daryl Patrice, Deana Rahming, Debi Pemberton, Jahnea Mason, Lily Reed, Sarah Gracel, Shauna Burris, Stephon Duncan and Vaughn-Rian St. James.
Written by Jerry Ayers and directed by Rachel Finley, Sisters! A Celebration of the Human Spirit is in recognition of Women’s History Month and celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center. For forty years, the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center has had a long-standing reputation for providing the caliber of instruction and services that enable students to have one of the most memorable experiences of their young lives and develop talents that aid them in any career path. Over the years, the center has served students in a manner that builds positive self-esteem, interpersonal skills, and enhances their academic performance. Art programs are driven by three priorities: to provide a safe environment for the students and staff to function; To foster and enhance artistic exploration; To develop the skills, perception and appreciation of students in the arts.
The African American Performing Arts Community Theatre, Inc. (AAPACT) was founded in 1999. The company is composed of local black actors, directors and stage technical professionals who strive to enhance and promote cultural awareness and education through the performing arts to inner city youth and theatergoers in the surrounding Miami-Dade County community. AAPACT is a not-for-profit 501(3) c organization, all contributions are tax deductible.
Performances of Sisters! A Celebration of the Human Spirit will run for one weekend only for three shows Friday, March 6 2015 – 7:30 pm $20; Saturday, March 7 – 7:30 pm $25 and Sunday, March 8 – 4 pm $20 at the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center, 6161 NW 22nd Avenue, Miami-Dade, Florida.
