Fall For Dance Takes NYC By Storm

One of the most beloved events in the New York City dance community, Fall For Dance, began on October 27 and continues at New York City Center through November 6. The annual explosion of dance is ultra-inclusive, showcasing all styles and featuring artists both established and emerging.

Vertigo Dance Company, Drew Jacoby, Jessica Lang Dance, and Richard Alston Dance Company perform on October 30, followed by a non-performance day, giving everyone an opportunity to celebrate Halloween. The event resumes with appearances from The Australian Ballet, Steven McRae, Pontus Lidberg Dance, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, performing on both November 1 & 2. TAO Dance Theater, CCN de Créteil et du Val-de-Marne, Royal Ballet of Flanders, and Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba take the stage on November 3 & 4. The last two days feature Maurice Chestnut, Liz Gerring Dance Company, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and our own New York City Ballet.

With tickets at a mere $10 for an evening of thrilling dance, even struggling dancers and cash-strapped enthusiasts can afford tickets. Unfortunately the popularity of the event means that tickets are sold out at this point. Cancellation tickets (sold at a maximum of two per customer) start going on sale an hour and a half before each performance. The unseasonable weather hitting the city this weekend is sure to keep snowphobes at home, so now is a great time to join the cancellation line and snag a seat.
